April 4th News and Offers

One Planet Yarn and Fiber April 4th Offers and News

April showers bring May flowers, except here in Arizona where it has already hit 100 with no rain in sight.  First, I will announce the winners for the March Blog Contest later this month.  The names are here, I just need time to get the random number generator from among all the moving boxes.  Thank you all for participating.  Names will be chosen at random by the random number generator.  Thank you for your patience.

This past Saturday I attended the monthly meeting for the Arizona Weavers and Spinnners Guild.  This meeting is the annual awards meeting.  They recognized members that were now lifetime members.  It was a very nice event to watch.  They also awarded the annual grant scholarship, to ME!  Now I can go and enjoy my learning to weave on a four harness loom at the end f this month.

The SALE page is still loaded.  The house moving date is the weekend of April 16th!  Don't forget to check it out.

There is an April Contest. The prize for this contest are some lovely knitting books donated to the cause by Mary Glendinning.  There will be 3 winners chosen at the end of the month.  In order to enter, you must "like" One Planet Yarn and Fiber's facebook fan page. You can just say hi or you can write a little story about what you are currently working on.  Fan number 225, 250 and 275 will each receive a new book of their choice from the collection I have on hand here.

Everyone, can you please send the word out about the facebook and the contest?

Make sure to watch the One Planet Knitters Group and my Blog, Facebook and newsletter for April's contest updates.

The April KAL using No Two Snowflakes pattern "Forbidden City Shawl" and Madelinetosh  tosh merino light is slated for this month.  I'll be casting on soon and I hope you will be too.  I've chosen to do this using the lichen colorway.  I've been drooling over it for months!
Since I am behind on my Noni Perfect Fit Laptop Sleeve due to me suddenly feeling the need to cast on other projects, the dates for completion for the shawl will be May 15th.  More info will appear up on the Blog, Ravelry and Facebook Fan pages as I finish things up.

I stopped to make some things for my new grandnephew, but he decided to show up this past Saturday so I finished up in time.  Yes there will be pictures.

Offer good until midnight on April 7th.

The next charity group has been chosen.  It is called the Binky Patrol and exists nationwide.  The location in Ohio is in desperate need of blankets, so you can check that out, or you can check out a chapter in your own state.  There is no time limit on completion of this project, just the desperate need that must be filled.

Thank you for supporting One Planet Yarn and Fiber!
